About the position

The Compensation Analyst at ProMedica Health System is responsible for managing compensation administration across the business unit. This includes job evaluation, developing pay ranges, administering annual increases, and conducting market analysis and salary survey submissions. The role supports HR goals and initiatives through various compensation-related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a database of compensation surveys and submit data to survey providers on an annual basis.
  • Perform internal and external equity analysis; make associated pay recommendations.
  • Evaluate positions upon request and as part of reorganizations/consolidations.
  • Prepare reports, documents, mailings, etc. to support day-to-day administration of step-in grade pay increases.
  • Evaluate exemption status of positions with occasional assistance from legal counsel; may assist with FLSA training or Wage and Hour investigations.
  • Recommend annual pay guidelines, pay scale adjustments and develop new pay scales.
  • Perform a variety of compensation-related projects in support of reorganization activities, changes in compensation programs, mergers and acquisitions, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven Microsoft Excel background/skills.
  • 2+ years compensation experience and/or experience within an HR discipline.
  • Knowledge of HR Information Systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Large company experience, particularly in an organization with multiple business units.
  • Strong mathematical skills and Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Ability to learn FLSA regulations and HRIS software.
  • Ability to comprehend complex quantitative information that is confidential in nature and exercise necessary discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
