About the position

The Culinary Sous Chef is a key leadership role in the kitchen, responsible for overseeing food production and ensuring that all culinary staff adhere to the quality standards set by the Executive Chef. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency of the kitchen while upholding the policies and procedures of the Seneca Gaming Corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee food production and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Supervise food production workers and assign tasks as needed.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and food preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to improve skills and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • Degree from a postsecondary culinary arts training program.
  • A minimum of three (3) years in a food preparation position.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Computer knowledge is a plus.
