About the position

The Employee Health Coordinator at Intermountain Wood Products is responsible for overseeing the Employee Health function, implementing programs that promote injury prevention, and coordinating care and treatment for employees. This role involves collaboration with leadership to develop health policies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, while also providing education and support to staff regarding occupational health and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate occupational illnesses, injuries, prevention programs, and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health standards and labor laws.
  • Coordinate employee health and hazard surveillance activities.
  • Provide and track preventative occupational health services to employees.
  • Coordinate the process for evaluating employee readiness to return to work.
  • Track and report employee communicable diseases, injuries, and exposures.
  • Support injury prevention and loss control activities as requested.
  • Recognize and assess hazards in the work environment.
  • Provide restorative occupational health services for employees with occupational illnesses or injuries.
  • Act as a liaison for Workers Compensation claims and facilitate work restrictions and accommodations.
  • Develop and implement employee health initiatives consistent with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate policy development and standardization of employee health protocols.
  • Serve as a representative on committees or task forces related to employee health.
  • Provide education to staff on preventing and treating occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Utilize current research to improve care and guide the development of standards for employee health.

Requirements

  • Current RN license for the state in which the nurse practices.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Two years of clinical nursing experience.
  • BSN must be obtained within three years of hire or promotion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • COHN and/or Case Management certifications from ABOHN.
  • Experience in Employee/Occupational Health.
  • Leadership experience.
