About the position
The Employee Health Plan Advocate plays a crucial role in educating and supporting team members across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont regarding their health plan options. This position involves conducting training sessions, providing personalized assistance, and collaborating with HR to address healthcare needs, ensuring employees make informed healthcare decisions based on their unique circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions for employees on health plan benefits, updates, and wellness programs.
- Work closely with health plan vendors to meet employee needs and troubleshoot individual challenges.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the provider market to inform training programs and advice.
- Provide personalized assistance to employees in understanding their health coverage options.
- Develop and update training materials and presentations based on the latest health plan information.
- Collaborate with the HR team to identify healthcare needs and gaps in coverage.
- Serve as the primary internal point of contact for health plan inquiries.
- Organize and lead Q&A sessions for employees.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of employee health information.
- Assist in communicating health plan benefits during new hire orientations and open enrollment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Education, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in training, healthcare administration, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of health insurance plans and employee benefits.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, concise formats.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to support and engage employees.
