About the position

The Employee Relations Advisor at CVS Health plays a crucial role in supporting a designated business unit by providing expert advice, consultation, and guidance on employee relations matters. This position is focused on resolving employee concerns, promoting a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The advisor will manage a caseload of inquiries, assist leaders with coaching and corrective actions, and work collaboratively with various stakeholders to mitigate risks and enhance employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice, consultation, and guidance to leaders and employees on CVS Health policies and practices.
  • Respond to a high volume of routine requests and escalated employee relations concerns.
  • Support resolution of employee relations issues while mitigating risk to the company.
  • Manage a caseload of workplace inquiries and concerns, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Assist leaders with coaching, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Meet case management metrics, including closing cases within specified time frames.
  • Deliver training to leaders on employee relations topics.
  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of employee relations experience.
  • Direct experience managing, advising, and resolving employee relations cases.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and utilizing employee relations case management systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Knowledge of current state and federal employment/labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven analytical skills, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills including conflict management, investigation, negotiation, and influencing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Direct experience interacting with labor unions and advising on labor relations matters.
  • Ability to assist and advise on the development of employee/labor relations trends and insights reporting.
  • Preferred Certifications or Licenses: Dispute Resolution, Mediation, EEO Investigator, PHR/SPHR, CP/SCP (SHRM).
