About the position

This position conducts work directly related to management or general business operations in an organization or functional area. The work requires advanced knowledge gained from a prolonged course of specialized instruction, experience, and expertise. The position includes work requiring the consistent exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. The purpose of this position is to provide direction within a limited discipline area and is primarily engaged in supervising activities that support the Human Resource departmental, discipline area, or project objectives. The role involves handling Employee Relations (ER) issues and conducting investigations, consulting with the manager on complex matters and investigations, and providing recommendations and guidance at the conclusion of investigations. The individual will work closely with managers on employee performance matters and discipline, proactively coaching department managers to assist them in effectively dealing with employee issues. Additionally, the position requires assisting with Global ER investigator meetings and tracking global investigators. A thorough understanding of company policies, procedures, and governmental regulations is essential, along with the ability to explain the need for compliance. The role also includes helping to design, conduct, and track ER training programs, identifying and tracking organizational ER trends, and proposing solutions that will assist managers in designing improvement strategies. The individual will participate in information gathering and responses to ER-related inquiries, exercising sound judgment in a manner consistent with company policies and practices, ensuring proper documentation. Furthermore, the position involves compiling relevant information regarding ER issues, investigations, and other matters, and developing detailed and summary information and reports, including those for programs, processes, and procedures. Maintaining a positive ER climate is crucial, which includes promptly responding to department or employee questions or concerns, addressing issues proactively, and advising ER and HRC management regarding proper company practice. In the Corporate Functions HR Support aspect, the individual will provide support to the HRBP of Corporate functions, which includes preparing reports, talent tracking, personnel actions, compensation planning, and any other HR activity in support of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Handle ER issues and conduct investigations, consulting with manager on complex matters and investigations; provide recommendations and guidance at the conclusion of investigations

  • Pro-actively coach department managers to assist them in effectively dealing with employee issues
  • Assist with Global ER investigator meetings and tracking global investigators
  • Understand and be able to explain company policies, procedures, and governmental regulations, and the need for compliance
  • Help design, conduct and track ER training programs
  • Help identify and track organizational ER trends and propose solutions that will assist managers in designing improvement strategies; track implemented strategies
  • Participate in information gathering and responses to ER related inquiries by exercising sound judgment in a manner consistent with company policies and practices, ensuring proper documentation
  • Compile relevant information regarding ER issues, investigations and other matters, and develop detailed and summary information and reports, including those for programs, processes, and procedures
  • Maintain a positive ER climate by promptly responding to department or employee questions or concerns, addressing issues proactively and advising ER and HRC management regarding proper company practice

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge gained from a prolonged course of specialized instruction, experience, and expertise in Human Resources or related field
  • Experience in handling Employee Relations issues and conducting investigations

  • Strong understanding of company policies, procedures, and governmental regulations
