About the position

The Employee Relations Consultant 2 is a pivotal role within Providence Health & Services, primarily responsible for serving as a trusted resource for Core Leaders and Caregivers who encounter employee relations matters. This position requires a deep understanding of employee and labor relations, ensuring that best practices are consistently applied. The consultant will be tasked with adhering to HR policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, and conducting thorough investigations into employee relations issues. Recommendations for improving the workplace environment will also be a key responsibility, aimed at fostering a positive and productive work culture. In this role, the Employee Relations Consultant will engage with various stakeholders, providing expert guidance and support to address complex employee relations challenges. The consultant will work closely with leadership to develop strategies that promote a healthy workplace, ensuring that all caregivers feel valued and empowered. The position emphasizes the importance of a supportive work environment, where caregivers can thrive and contribute to the overall mission of patient-focused care. As part of the Providence Human Resources team, the consultant will support nurses and other caregivers in various capacities, applying specialized training to enhance the quality of care provided to patients. Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted resource for Core Leaders and Caregivers on employee relations matters.
  • Ensure adherence to HR policies and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct investigations into employee relations issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and implement best practice approaches to employee and labor relations.
  • Provide high-touch customer service in a concierge-style environment.
  • Collaborate with leadership to promote a positive workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in general human resources or equivalent work experience at the exempt level in a multi-state/location service line of business.
  • Five years of demonstrated experience in Employee Relations, labor relations, ADAAA, and leaves of absence.
  • Five years of demonstrated experience providing high-touch customer service in a concierge-style environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP) upon hire.
  • Three years of additional experience in HR Service Center, Drug Free Workplace, Compliance, Performance Management, ADA/LOA.
