About the position

The Employee Relations Consultant 2 is a pivotal role within Providence Health & Services, primarily responsible for serving as a trusted resource for Core Leaders and Caregivers who encounter employee relations matters. This position requires a deep understanding of employee and labor relations, ensuring that best practices are consistently applied. The consultant will be tasked with adhering to HR policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, and conducting thorough investigations. Recommendations for improving the workplace environment will also be a key responsibility, aimed at fostering a positive and productive atmosphere for all employees. In this role, the Employee Relations Consultant will engage with various stakeholders, providing expert guidance and support in navigating complex employee relations issues. The consultant will work closely with leadership to promote a culture of respect and understanding, ensuring that all caregivers feel valued and empowered. The position emphasizes the importance of effective communication and collaboration, as the consultant will be instrumental in resolving conflicts and enhancing employee satisfaction. As part of the Providence Human Resources team, the Employee Relations Consultant will support caregivers in various capacities, including those involved in patient care. This role is not just about addressing issues as they arise; it is about proactively creating an environment where caregivers can thrive and deliver exceptional care to patients. The consultant will play a crucial role in shaping the organizational culture, ensuring that it aligns with Providence's mission of caring for everyone, especially the most vulnerable in our communities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted resource for Core Leaders and Caregivers on employee relations matters.
  • Ensure adherence to HR policies and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct investigations into employee relations issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Promote positive employee and labor relations practices within the organization.
  • Provide high-touch customer service in a 'concierge' style environment.
  • Collaborate with leadership to enhance workplace culture and employee satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in general human resources or equivalent work experience at the exempt level in a multi-state/location service line of business.
  • Five years of demonstrated experience in Employee Relations, labor relations, ADAAA, and leaves of absence.
  • Five years of demonstrated experience providing high-touch customer service in a 'concierge' style environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP) upon hire.
  • Three years of additional experience in HR Service Center, Drug Free Workplace, Compliance, Performance Management, ADA/LOA.
