As a fast-growing healthcare provider in the fastest growing city in the U.S., we are seeking an Employee Relations Consultant to join our Talent Team. This role is pivotal in supporting the mission, goals, and objectives of our organization, which services over 6,000 staff members. The Employee Relations Consultant will serve as an advocate for employees and a resource for leaders on all matters related to employee relations, labor relations, employment law, organizational policies, employee engagement, and retention. This position requires a thorough understanding of major employment laws, including the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and others. The consultant will support performance management initiatives, provide guidance on performance evaluations, and conduct investigations into employee complaints, ensuring compliance with due diligence guidelines. In addition to these responsibilities, the Employee Relations Consultant will analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions aimed at engaging and retaining a high-quality workforce. The role also involves managing the Employee Grievance process for both union and non-union employees and providing guidance on leave management laws. This position is essential in fostering a fair work environment and supporting Just Culture initiatives within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with major employment laws including NLRA, FMLA, ADA, and others.
  • Support performance management initiatives and provide guidance on performance evaluations.
  • Conduct employee investigations and ensure thoroughness and timeliness.
  • Provide recommendations for problem resolution to leaders, employees, and teams.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions for employee engagement and retention.
  • Manage the Employee Grievance process for union and non-union employees.
  • Provide guidance to Leave Management Specialist on leave laws and complex matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field (required).
  • 2-5 years of experience in Employee Relations (required).
  • Proficient knowledge of Employee Relations, Labor Relations, and Employment Law (essential).
  • High level of interpersonal skills, teamwork, and relationship building (essential).
  • Experience in healthcare human resources (preferred).
  • Experience in a union environment (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in HR legal matters and regulations (ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc.) (preferred).
  • Experience working on projects related to analytics, turnover reduction, and employee engagement (preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Human Resources or related field (nonessential).
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification (preferred).
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP Certification (preferred).

Benefits

  • Competitive salary starting from $59,550.40 per year.
