About the position

The Employee Relations Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing administrative practices and objectives within the Tulalip Police Department. This position acts as a resource for payroll and human resource contacts, ensuring compliance with benefits, policies, and regulations. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining high performance and productivity standards while supporting various HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee wellness, and performance management initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee administrative practices and objectives within the Tulalip Police Department.
  • Act as a resource for payroll and human resource contacts to ensure compliance with benefits, policies, and regulations.
  • Keep management informed of potential problem areas and recommend/implement solutions.
  • Administer and support recruitment, onboarding, retention, employee wellness, benefits and pension, employee relations, and performance management initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).
  • Four (4) years of working experience with Human Resources or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information.
  • Four (4) years of computer operations experience, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Valid WA State Driver License and personal auto insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • CJIS security awareness level certification (to be obtained within six months).
  • THRP (Tribal Human Resource Professional) certification (to be obtained within twelve months).
