About the position

The Employee Relations Generalist position is designed to provide primary oversight in the areas of compliance and employee relations within the organization. This role is crucial in maintaining HR-related forms, policies, procedures, manuals, handbooks, and SharePoint content to ensure that all materials are accurate and compliant with current regulations. The Employee Relations Generalist will be responsible for ensuring that all HR compliance-related deliverables are completed in a timely manner, which is essential for the smooth operation of the HR department and the organization as a whole. In this role, the Employee Relations Generalist will engage in various activities that require a strong understanding of HR practices and the ability to navigate complex employee relations issues. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, where the individual must analyze scenarios and weigh the desirability and probability of possible outcomes. This requires a significant degree of creativity and the ability to think critically about the implications of various decisions on employee relations and compliance. The Employee Relations Generalist will also play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture that aligns with SDCCU's values. The individual in this position will work closely with team members across the organization to enhance the employee experience and contribute to the overall success of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight in compliance and employee relations.
  • Maintain HR-related forms, policies, procedures, manuals, and handbooks.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of SharePoint content.
  • Complete all HR compliance-related deliverables as needed.
  • Analyze complex employee relations scenarios and deliver solutions.
  • Promote an ethical and compliant work environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, or a certificate in Human Resources Management, or two years' additional related work experience.
  • Two years' experience working in an HR Department, including hands-on experience with employee relations or relevant HR experience.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and deliver solutions where past precedent may not exist.
  • Significant degree of creativity and ability to analyze scenarios.
  • Ability to effectively navigate nuance.
