The Employee Relations Investigator IV position is a critical role within Kaiser Permanente, primarily responsible for conducting moderately complex to complex Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and other Human Resources (HR) investigations. This individual contributor role involves supporting and reporting on company employee information, as well as conducting employee relations training and assistance activities under the supervision of more senior employees. The position plays a vital role in ensuring regulatory compliance and provides consulting to business line stakeholders on HR policies, processes, procedures, laws, and regulations. In this role, the investigator will practice self-development and promote learning among coworkers and customers by proactively providing information, resources, advice, and expertise. Building relationships with cross-functional stakeholders is essential, as is the ability to influence others through technical explanations and examples. The investigator will need to adapt to competing demands and new responsibilities, listen and respond to feedback, and create and execute plans to capitalize on strengths while developing weaknesses. Team collaboration and adaptability to change are also key components of this position. The investigator will complete work assignments and support business-specific projects by applying their expertise in the subject area. This includes supporting the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines, ensuring adherence to procedures and policies, coordinating resources, and collaborating cross-functionally to make effective business decisions. The role also involves solving complex problems, escalating high-priority issues, and recognizing opportunities for improvement. Conducting investigations will require the collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, conducting interviews, and making recommendations based on findings. The investigator will document investigation findings thoroughly, provide updates to HR and business leadership, and contribute to the creation of corrective action plans for substantiated allegations. Additionally, the investigator will support the reporting of company employee information by organizing data, conducting analyses, and influencing the development of database technologies to track key data. Training and assistance activities will be conducted under the supervision of more senior employees, advising both employees and management on policies and procedures, conducting needs assessments, and partnering on the development and delivery of formal education and training. The investigator will also monitor regulatory changes, conduct analyses on their impacts, and support the implementation of designated changes to ensure compliance. Consulting with business line stakeholders on HR policies and procedures will be a significant part of the role, requiring the investigator to stay abreast of and interpret policies and regulations, guide managers on employee management, and work with legal teams to resolve issues.
