About the position

The Employee Relations Investigator at U.S. Bank plays a crucial role in maintaining an ethical workplace by conducting thorough investigations into employee concerns, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, and misconduct. This position requires a high level of discretion and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders while ensuring compliance with the Bank's Code of Conduct and Core Values. Investigators are responsible for resolving complex cases, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to prevent future issues, all while working under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee relations issues and allegations of misconduct.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the investigation process.
  • Examine cases holistically to determine root causes and address them appropriately.
  • Conduct investigational interviews and write detailed summaries of findings.
  • Collaborate with HR partners and business lines to discuss resolutions and outcomes of investigations.
  • Proactively address conditions that could lead to future issues or complaints.
  • Think creatively to explore innovative solutions to complex problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in employee relations or as an HR Generalist, or equivalent experience.

  • Diplomacy and executive communication skills; experience with influential authority.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness with highly sensitive matters.
  • Knowledge of and practical application of employment law in investigation situations.
  • Expertise in conducting investigative interviews.
  • Flexibility and agility when demands and priorities shift.
  • Demonstrated resiliency and emotional intelligence in handling challenging situations.
  • JD and/or advanced HR degrees/certifications.
