About the position

The Employee Relations Investigator at U.S. Bank plays a crucial role in maintaining an ethical workplace by conducting thorough investigations into employee concerns and allegations. This position requires a strong understanding of employee relations, the ability to handle sensitive matters, and effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders. The investigator will ensure compliance with the Bank's Code of Conduct and Core Values while addressing issues such as discrimination, harassment, and general misconduct.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee relations issues and allegations.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the investigation process.
  • Examine cases holistically to determine root causes and address them appropriately.
  • Conduct investigational interviews and write detailed summaries of findings.
  • Collaborate with HR partners and business lines to discuss resolutions and outcomes.
  • Proactively address conditions that could lead to future issues.
  • Think creatively to explore innovative solutions to complex problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Six or more years of experience in employee relations or as an HR Generalist, or equivalent experience.

  • Diplomacy and executive communication skills; experience with influential authority.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness with highly sensitive matters.
  • Knowledge of and practical application of employment law in investigation situations.
  • Expertise in conducting investigative interviews.
  • Flexibility and agility when demands and priorities shift.
  • Demonstrated resiliency and emotional intelligence in handling challenging situations.
  • JD and/or advanced HR degrees/certifications.
