About the position

The Employee Relations Manager at Baxter Auto plays a crucial role in leading and managing HR and employee relations functions. This position is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure compliance with labor laws while fostering a collaborative and trusting work environment. The role involves building relationships with management and employees, handling complex employee issues, and conducting investigations into misconduct and performance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with General Managers, Store Leaders, and employees at all levels.
  • Develop the Store Leader's ability to handle employee issues including performance management, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
  • Manage all leave of absence processes including FMLA, ADA, Short- and Long-Term Disability, and Worker's Compensation.
  • Provide training on various employee-related topics to ensure adherence to compliance policies.
  • Maintain and expand a trusting, collaborative work environment for all employees to advocate for employee satisfaction and execute business objectives.
  • Conduct internal investigations into allegations of misconduct, poor performance, and violations of company policies.
  • Develop/adopt policies, procedures, and programs to promote fair and efficient business decisions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of complex employee relations experience with emphasis on conflict resolution and investigations.
  • Knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, work comp., and ERISA law regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred.
  • PHR and/or SPHR certification is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to assigned store locations.
  • Demonstrated experience with constructive conflict management, resolution, and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of all Employee Relations laws and investigation claims at all levels of the company.
  • Strong collaboration and communication capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • PHR and/or SPHR certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred.
