About the position

The Employee Relations Manager (HRBP) is responsible for managing employee relations issues within the organization, providing guidance and support to managers and supervisors. This role involves conducting investigations into employee complaints, advising on disciplinary processes, and interpreting Collective Bargaining Agreements to minimize organizational risk. The position aims to enhance the employee experience and improve the organizational climate through collaboration with HR Business Partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations issues by providing guidance and support to managers and supervisors.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints, partnering with HRBPs and Labor Relations to recommend actions.
  • Advise on disciplinary processes and ensure fair, timely handling of employee relations cases.
  • Interpret and administer Collective Bargaining Agreements while minimizing organizational risk.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to improve organizational climate and enhance the employee experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR and employee relations experience, including exposure to union/non-union organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and labor relations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with HRIS systems (Workday or similar).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships and resolve conflict.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing demands.
