About the position

The Employee Relations Manager at the City of Dallas is responsible for overseeing employee relations initiatives from conception to execution. This role involves providing subject matter expertise to the Human Resources Partner team, delivering guidance and support across various functional areas within the Employee Relations team. The manager serves as a strategic partner, identifying areas for improvement and leading a support team responsible for Employee Relations functions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise initiatives from conception to execution within the Employee Relations team.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the Human Resources Partner team.
  • Deliver advice, guidance, and support across various functional areas.
  • Identify areas for improvement and offer recommendations.
  • Lead a support team responsible for overseeing Employee Relations functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Four years of human resources related experience, including at least one year of employee relations and investigation experience.
  • One year of lead work/supervisory responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and best practices.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
