About the position

The Employee Relations Manager at Avanti Hospitals is responsible for collaborating with HR Business Partners and management to enhance employee performance and manage employee relations issues. This strategic role serves as a bridge between human resources, employees, and management, focusing on attracting and retaining talent, improving employee engagement, and achieving organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provides HR guidance on a wide range of issues.
  • Conducts and documents effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
  • Provides performance management guidance, including coaching and counseling.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees.
  • Serves as a hearing officer for grievances and disciplinary issues.
  • Consults with and provides guidance to both managers and employees regarding conflict resolution, career development, performance improvement, corrective counseling, terminations, and other HR issues.
  • Builds collaborative relationships within the organization and HR department to resolve HR-related issues.
  • Serves as backup to the Human Resource Business Partners during periods of time off.
  • May serve as a mentor to Human Resource Staff.
  • Establishes trust and credibility for HR through daily interactions.
  • Analyzes Exit Interview data and makes recommendations on staff retention.
  • Handles confidential/sensitive information while communicating with various levels in the organization.
  • Acts as a change agent with an emphasis on aligning business practice with company mission and values.
  • Ensures compliance with DOL and other regulatory agencies for employee files and business practices.
  • Provides training to leadership on crucial conversations, investigation techniques, counseling documentation, and other related topics.
  • Ensures adherence to HR policies, procedures, and processes, including data entry.
  • Serves as a mentor to HR Business Partners and Coordinators.
  • Provides coverage for HR leaders when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of Human Resources experience, with a minimum of three (3) years in Employee Relations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Healthcare Human Resources experience preferred.
  • AB508 Workplace Violence Prevention certification due within 30 days from hire date.
