About the position

Our client located near Sparta, NJ is currently seeking an experienced and proactive Employee Relations Manager. This role focuses predominantly on managing employee investigations and ensuring compliance with organization policies, guidelines, and values. This position would play a pivotal role in fostering a positive workforce environment that encourages and facilitates communication, cooperation, and respect among all employees. The Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for conducting fair and thorough investigations into all issues reported to our department, especially those concerning employee misconduct and violations of company policies. Assessing and addressing any risks associated with allegations promptly and efficiently is crucial to this role. The Employee Relations Manager will meet with employees and management to address any inappropriate behavior or misconduct. They will implement procedures to manage complex employee relations issues while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Collaboration with HR and legal teams is essential to construct a robust response system. Additionally, the manager will develop and implement training plans for managers to better handle employee relation matters. Addressing systemic issues and recommending corrective actions when necessary will help limit legal liabilities and maintain a productive work environment. The role also involves partnering with outside counsel on all aspects of the company's immigration case management, ensuring timely and accurate filings, advising employees and management on immigration-related questions, overseeing the recruitment process, and ensuring records and public inspection files are properly maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fair and thorough investigations into all issues reported to our department, especially those concerning employee misconduct and violations of company policies.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and legal teams to construct a robust response system.
  • Develop and implement training plans for managers to better handle employee relation matters.
  • Address systemic issues and recommend corrective actions when necessary, limiting legal liabilities and maintaining a productive work environment.
  • Partner with outside counsel on all aspects of company's immigration case management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filings, advise employees and management on immigration related questions, oversee recruitment process, and ensure records and public inspection files are properly maintained.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a related field focusing on managing employee relations investigations.
  • Extensive knowledge of labor laws and employment standards.
  • Proven ability to lead sensitive investigations tactfully, maintaining privacy and effective problem resolution.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple urgent projects, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to remain impartial and professional at all times.
