About the position

The Bilingual Spanish Employee Relations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing a team of 12 Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) in Fountain Valley, CA. This position is responsible for managing employee relations and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws related to human resources, payroll, workers' compensation, safety, security, and employee practices. The manager will assist both the management team and employees with strategic planning and problem-solving, ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant regulations and best practices in employee relations. In this role, the Employee Relations Manager will be tasked with responding to and reporting on HR/ER-related issues to both US government and internal/external agencies. This includes creating, revising, and maintaining company-wide employee relation policies that align with organizational goals. The manager will collaborate with other HR employees to develop effective HR/ER programs and benchmark best practices to enhance the overall employee experience. Training is a key component of this position, as the manager will be responsible for training all employees on HR/ER-related topics. This will involve working closely with the HR Training Administrator and the Workers' Compensation and Safety Administrator to identify relevant programs and policies. The Employee Relations Manager will also maintain corporate HR/ER-related documents and materials, ensuring that all resources are up-to-date and accessible. Additionally, the manager will support HR planning and organizational management for annual business planning and maintain the HR Activity report and other relevant documentation as required by the head of the HR Planning department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 12 HRBPs in employee relations.
  • Assist management and employees with strategic planning and problem-solving.
  • Understand and administer state and federal laws relating to HR, payroll, workers' compensation, safety, and employee practices.
  • Respond and report to US government and internal/external agencies on HR/ER related issues.
  • Create, revise, and maintain company-wide employee relation policies.
  • Collaborate with other HR employees to develop effective HR/ER programs.
  • Benchmark best practices in HR/ER processes, procedures, and programs.
  • Train all employees in HR/ER related topics.
  • Work with HR Training Administrator and WC & Safety administrator to identify HR/ER related programs and policies.
  • Cross-train with Workers' Compensation, Safety, and Security desk for backup as needed.
  • Maintain corporate HR/ER related documents and materials.
  • Support HR planning and organizational management for annual business planning.
  • Update and maintain HR Activity report and ADP/ER subject folder as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or equivalent; combination of work experience and education will be considered.
  • Master's Degree preferred but not required.
  • PHR Certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish is required.
  • 7 to 15 years of progressive experience in HR and Employee Relations.
  • Experience in job analysis, Employee Relations, and HR consulting.
  • Administration of multi-state programs for exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Experience with international knowledge desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, HRIS, Budgeting, Payroll systems, and SAP.
