About the position

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective employee relations strategies and policies.
  • Guide performance management processes and conflict resolution initiatives.
  • Investigate and address employee complaints and grievances promptly.
  • Mediate disputes between employees and management.
  • Conduct training programs on employee relations topics.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to update policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee relations activities.
  • Stay up-to-date on employment law and industry trends.
  • Analyze data and information to assess the cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes.
  • Conduct research on human resource policies, compensation, and other employment issues.
  • Provide legal guidance and advice to managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel and departments in negotiations with employee and labor groups.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in employee relations, HR management, or a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply relevant laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Employee Relations, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Four years of professional human resource administration experience, with at least two years in employee relations preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
