About the position

The Employee Relations Officer at the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is responsible for providing guidance and recommendations on employee-related issues, ensuring compliance with federal laws, and conducting investigations related to employee matters. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe and effective workplace while supporting the agency's mission of enhancing public safety through effective correctional practices.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance and recommendations to management/employees on all aspects of employee related issues.
• Meets with management on extremely confidential employee matters dealing with employee discipline, equal opportunity matters, and guidance on investigations.
• Conducts EEO fact-finding investigations and prepares comprehensive reports with recommendations for management review.
• Reviews, revises, and composes professional correspondence related to HR matters.
• Monitors time frames to ensure policy adherence and maintains complex reports.
• Develops curriculum and presents training on EEO, ADA, FMLA, military leave, grievances, and departmental policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a closely related field.
• Two years of experience as an HR Analyst or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and procedures pertaining to personnel administration, including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and EEO.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze problems and determine acceptable solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• Five years of experience working with ADCRR policies and procedures.
• Practical work experience with progressively challenging administrative assignments.
