About the position

The Employee Relations Partner is a pivotal role within Ryder System, responsible for providing consistent and tactical Employee Relations consultation to both Managers and Employees. This position is designed to resolve employee issues and advise on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations. The Employee Relations Partner will conduct thorough Human Resources (HR) investigations to ensure that all employee issues are addressed in compliance with company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. The role also involves analyzing and interpreting data to monitor employee relations trends, which aids Operations Management in proactively addressing these trends. Furthermore, the Employee Relations Partner will provide guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures to minimize the company's legal liability. In this remote position, the Employee Relations Partner will oversee the daily administration of reported concerns within ServiceNow and Navex systems. They will conduct and participate in all phases of local HR investigations, developing investigation plans, and ensuring that investigations are fair, neutral, and timely, in accordance with company policies and federal/state regulations. The role requires close collaboration with Operational Management, Business HR, Labor Relations, and Legal Teams to create solutions for complex Employee Relations issues. The Employee Relations Partner will also ensure the delivery of high-quality HR support through performance management, risk mitigation in legal compliance, and effective communication with employees, while also collaborating with Centers of Excellence (COEs).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily administration of reported concerns within ServiceNow and Navex systems.
  • Conduct and participate in all phases of local HR investigations, developing investigation plans, and ensuring fair, neutral, and timely investigations.
  • Ensure policy interpretation for supervisors and managers regarding employee conflict resolutions, disciplinary actions, and termination guidance.
  • Partner with Operational Management, Business HR, Labor Relations, and Legal Teams to create solutions to complex Employee Relations issues.
  • Deliver high-quality Human Resources support through performance management and mitigating risk in legal compliance.
  • Administer relevant clauses/provisions within union Collective Bargaining Agreements as applicable.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and employment legislation within the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational management, law, or equivalent required.
  • Five (5) years or more in HR compliance, HR generalist, or employee relations required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (intermediate level) required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (intermediate level) required.
