About the position

The Employee Relations Partner is a pivotal role within Ryder System, responsible for providing consistent and tactical Employee Relations consultation to both Managers and Employees. This position is designed to resolve employee issues and advise on matters related to employee conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations. The Employee Relations Partner will conduct thorough Human Resources (HR) investigations to ensure that all employee issues are addressed in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Furthermore, the role involves analyzing and interpreting data to monitor employee relations trends, which aids Operations Management in proactively addressing these trends to prevent future issues. The position also requires providing guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures to minimize the company's legal liability. This role is fully remote, but candidates must reside in the Southeast Region. The Employee Relations Partner will oversee the daily administration of reported concerns within ServiceNow and Navex systems, ensuring that all phases of local HR investigations are conducted fairly, neutrally, and in a timely manner. The partner will also ensure that supervisors and managers are well-informed about policy interpretations, enabling them to effectively handle employee conflict resolutions and disciplinary actions. Collaboration with Operational Management, Business HR, Labor Relations, and Legal Teams is essential to create solutions for complex Employee Relations issues. The position demands a high level of professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive investigations and identifying violations of regulations or company policies. In addition to these responsibilities, the Employee Relations Partner will perform other duties as assigned and maintain knowledge of legal requirements and employment legislation within the region. Travel may be required to company sites within the supported region, although the travel expectation is relatively low, ranging from 0% to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tactical Employee Relations consultation to Managers and Employees.
  • Conduct HR-related investigations to resolve employee issues in adherence to company policies and regulations.
  • Analyze and interpret data to monitor employee relations trends and aid Operations Management.
  • Provide guidance on policy interpretation to minimize legal liability.
  • Oversee daily administration of reported concerns within ServiceNow and Navex systems.
  • Conduct fair, neutral, and timely investigations in accordance with company policies and federal/state regulations.
  • Partner with Operational Management, Business HR, Labor Relations, and Legal Teams to create solutions for complex Employee Relations issues.
  • Ensure high-quality HR support through performance management and compliance with legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational management, law, or equivalent major.
  • Five years or more of experience in HR compliance, HR generalist, or employee relations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate level.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations at an intermediate level.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to conduct sensitive investigations and identify violations of regulations or policies.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to remain impartial during investigations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
