About the position

The Employee Relations Partner is a pivotal role within Ryder System, responsible for delivering consistent and tactical Employee Relations consultation to both Managers and Employees. This position is designed to resolve employee issues and provide guidance on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations. The Employee Relations Partner will conduct thorough Human Resources (HR) investigations to ensure that all employee issues are addressed in compliance with company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. This role is essential in managing resolutions and providing recommendations to Operational Management and Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) as necessary. In addition to resolving employee issues, the Employee Relations Partner will analyze and interpret data to monitor employee relations trends. This proactive approach will aid Operations Management in addressing these trends effectively. The position also involves providing guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures to minimize the company's legal liability. The role is fully remote, but candidates must reside in the Southeast Region to facilitate any necessary travel to company sites. Key responsibilities include overseeing the daily administration of reported concerns within ServiceNow and Navex systems, conducting and participating in all phases of local HR investigations, and ensuring policy interpretation for supervisors and managers. The Employee Relations Partner will collaborate with Operational Management, Business HR, Labor Relations, and Legal Teams to devise solutions for complex Employee Relations issues. Furthermore, the role requires maintaining knowledge of legal requirements and employment legislation within the region, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation in HR practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tactical Employee Relations consultation to Managers and Employees.
  • Conduct HR-related investigations to resolve employee issues in adherence to company policies and regulations.
  • Analyze and interpret data to monitor employee relations trends and aid Operations Management.
  • Oversee daily administration of reported concerns within ServiceNow and Navex systems.
  • Conduct fair, neutral, and timely investigations in accordance with company policies and federal/state regulations.
  • Ensure policy interpretation for supervisors and managers regarding employee conflict resolutions and disciplinary actions.
  • Partner with Operational Management, Business HR, Labor Relations, and Legal Teams to create solutions for complex Employee Relations issues.
  • Deliver high-quality HR support through performance management and compliance administration.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and employment legislation within the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational management, law, or equivalent major.
  • Five years or more in HR compliance, HR generalist, or employee relations experience required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite at an intermediate level required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations at an intermediate level required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to conduct sensitive investigations and identify violations of regulations and policies.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to remain impartial during investigations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves
