About the position

The Employee Relations Partner is a critical role within Ryder System, responsible for providing consistent and tactical Employee Relations consultation to both Managers and Employees. This position is designed to resolve employee issues and advise on matters related to employee conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations. The Employee Relations Partner will conduct thorough Human Resources (HR) investigations to ensure that all employee issues are addressed in compliance with company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to managing employee relations by analyzing and interpreting data to monitor trends, which aids Operations Management in addressing these trends effectively and preventively. In this remote position, the Employee Relations Partner will oversee the daily administration of reported concerns within the ServiceNow and Navex systems. They will conduct and participate in all phases of local HR investigations, developing investigation plans, and ensuring that investigations are fair, neutral, and timely, adhering to company policies and federal/state regulations. The Partner will also provide guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures to minimize the company's legal liability, ensuring that supervisors and managers are equipped to handle employee conflict resolutions and disciplinary actions appropriately. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Employee Relations Partner will partner with Operational Management, Business HR, Labor Relations, and Legal Teams to create solutions for complex Employee Relations issues. The position also involves maintaining knowledge of legal requirements and employment legislation within the region, and travel may be required to company sites within the supported region. Overall, this role is essential in delivering high-quality Human Resources support and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tactical Employee Relations consultation to Managers and Employees.
  • Conduct HR-related investigations to resolve employee issues in adherence to company policies and regulations.
  • Analyze and interpret data to monitor employee relations trends and aid Operations Management.
  • Oversee daily administration of reported concerns within ServiceNow and Navex systems.
  • Conduct fair, neutral, and timely investigations in accordance with company policies and federal/state regulations.
  • Ensure policy interpretation for supervisors and managers regarding employee conflict resolutions and disciplinary actions.
  • Partner with Operational Management, Business HR, Labor Relations, and Legal Teams to create solutions for complex Employee Relations issues.
  • Deliver high-quality Human Resources support through performance management and legal compliance administration.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and employment legislation within the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational management, law, or equivalent major.
  • Five (5) years or more in HR compliance, HR generalist, or employee relations experience required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite at an intermediate level required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations at an intermediate level required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to remain impartial during investigations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to operate and excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.

Nice-to-haves
