About the position

The Employee Relations Partner at Willmott & Associates, Inc. is a temporary contract role focused on providing strategic and tactical Employee Relations consultation within a mid-sized healthcare organization. This position requires expertise in union/labor relations and knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA). The role involves advising managers and employees on conflict resolution, performance management, and compliance with employment laws, while also conducting investigations into employee issues.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and coach managers and employees in the application and interpretation of Human Resources policies, labor union contracts, and employee relations matters.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations regarding employee relations matters, including EEO, sexual harassment, and workplace violence.
  • Advise clients and make recommendations regarding performance management, employee conduct, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support the grievance and arbitration process to maintain positive employee relations and labor-management relations.
  • Prepare, interpret, process, and educate around changes to collective bargaining agreements and contract negotiations.
  • Assist managers in developing and implementing employee relations efforts to build trust and enhance employee engagement.
  • Advise on FMLA, leave of absence, and ADA compliance in consultation with relevant departments.
  • Participate on committees and initiatives to ensure application of new legislation and policy updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources or an equivalent field.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in Employee Relations or Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of human resources theory, principles, and practices.
  • Working knowledge of recruitment, training, compensation, employee relations, labor relations, and benefits administration.
  • Strong communication, program management, project management, facilitation, decision-making, critical thinking, and listening skills.
  • Prior Employee Relations coaching/mentoring expertise and functional understanding of the organization.
  • Proven problem-solving, mediation, and analysis experience.
  • Self-directed and motivated with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
