About the position

The Employee Relations Partner will provide strategic and tactical consultation to managers and employees within a mid-sized healthcare organization. This role focuses on resolving employee issues, advising on conflict resolution, performance management, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. The position requires strong expertise in employee relations within a union environment and involves conducting investigations and supporting grievance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and coach managers and employees on HR policies and labor union contracts.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations regarding employee relations matters such as EEO and sexual harassment.
  • Make recommendations regarding performance management and disciplinary actions.
  • Support the grievance and arbitration process to maintain positive employee relations.
  • Prepare and interpret changes to collective bargaining agreements and contract negotiations.
  • Assist in developing employee relations efforts to enhance engagement and trust.
  • Advise on FMLA, leave of absence, and ADA compliance in consultation with relevant departments.
  • Participate in committees to ensure policy updates and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in employee relations and labor relations.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources principles and practices.
  • Experience in recruitment, training, compensation, and benefits administration.
  • Excellent communication, program management, and decision-making skills.
  • Prior coaching/mentoring experience in employee relations.
  • Proven problem-solving and mediation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare organization.
  • Knowledge of NLRA and labor relations best practices.
