About the position

The Employee Relations Partner is responsible for leading employee relations initiatives by executing comprehensive functions that align with company policies and legal requirements. This role focuses on enhancing employee experience, promoting fairness, and ensuring compliance while mitigating risks. The position requires collaboration across the U.S. employee population and involves consultation on various HR topics, conducting investigations, and developing training materials.

Responsibilities

  • Provides consultation and support to the Human Resources function on HR and Employee Relations topics including performance management and policy interpretation.
  • Conducts workplace investigations and resolves complaints, ensuring thorough and objective recommendations are developed.
  • Interprets and applies federal and state laws regarding equal access for people with disabilities.
  • Receives and processes accommodation requests and provides guidance to leadership on disability-related issues.
  • Develops training and materials specific to investigations and other employment matters.
  • Delivers training and materials for manager development.
  • Manages data collection and communication process for AAP/EEO-1 Program Compliance.
  • Advises HR team and managers in developing documentation to support performance management processes.
  • Supports communication and change efforts with HR, Legal, Managers, and Employees.
  • Assists with HR compliance programs, internal audits, and external audits.
  • Selects materials to aid skill building for managers.
  • Collaborates with HR team to maintain accurate internal process documentation.

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years of HR experience with 4+ years in Employee Relations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Master's degree in Human Resources or related field a plus.
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions with limited data or in uncertain circumstances.
  • Experience managing highly confidential information and complex situations with discretion and sensitivity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and trends.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and history of resolving sensitive situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent project management, organizing, and planning skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in veterinary or healthcare-related fields.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement strategies.
