About the position

The Employee Relations Specialist 1 at Grifols is responsible for managing and resolving employee relations issues within a high-volume call center environment. This role emphasizes case management and requires strong HR partnering skills to support employees and managers effectively. The specialist will handle a range of employee concerns, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Responds to, investigates, and provides recommendations to resolve employee relations concerns reported to the Employee Relations Service Center, Grifols Ethics Hotline, or other means.
• Documents all activity, advice, resolution, and prepares investigative reports.
• Maintains discretion and confidentiality regarding employee concerns.
• Coaches and advises managers on Grifols' employee relations best practices, policies, programs, or processes.
• Ensures compliance with state and federal laws as well as company policy.
• Educates and trains HR staff and front-line management on Employee Relations policies and procedures.
• Works with the Legal department to respond to EEOC, DOL, and other legal claims.
• Responds to unemployment claims for all Grifols' companies.
• Creates and delivers training on employee relations issues, compliance policies, and related administrative procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
• Typically requires 1 - 5 years of HR experience that includes experience handling related employee relations issues.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Good organization, presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong PC skills, especially with Microsoft Office Suite of products.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to perform root cause analysis.
