About the position

The Employee Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering a positive workplace environment by addressing employee concerns, managing conflict resolution, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. This position involves working closely with employees and management to promote effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization. The Employee Relations Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing employee engagement initiatives, conducting investigations into employee complaints, and providing guidance on performance management and disciplinary actions. Additionally, this role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential issues and implementing strategies to mitigate risks related to employee relations. In this position, the Employee Relations Specialist will also be tasked with analyzing employee feedback and survey data to identify trends and areas for improvement. They will collaborate with HR teams to design and deliver training programs aimed at enhancing employee relations skills among managers and supervisors. The specialist will serve as a trusted advisor to both employees and management, ensuring that all parties are informed of their rights and responsibilities under company policies and applicable laws. The Employee Relations Specialist will also play a key role in promoting diversity and inclusion within the workplace, ensuring that all employees feel valued and respected. This includes developing programs and initiatives that support a diverse workforce and foster an inclusive culture. The specialist will be expected to stay current on best practices in employee relations and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely and effective manner.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance workplace morale.
  • Provide guidance to management on performance management and disciplinary actions.
  • Analyze employee feedback and survey data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with HR teams to design and deliver training programs for managers and supervisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in employee relations or human resources.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and negotiation techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Human Resources (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
  • Experience with HRIS and employee engagement software.
  • Knowledge of diversity and inclusion best practices.
