About the position

The Employee Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment by acting as a bridge between employees and management. This position is responsible for collecting and analyzing employee data, ensuring that employee files are organized and up-to-date, and overseeing the orientation and training of new employees. The specialist will provide counseling services to employees, participate in coaching and progressive discipline processes, and effectively communicate company policies, procedures, and regulatory matters. In addition to these responsibilities, the Employee Relations Specialist will conduct exit interviews, analyze the results, and present findings to management and leadership. This role requires a deep understanding of employment law and adherence to both company and industry regulations. The specialist will also be involved in training employees on communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring that all staff members are equipped to handle workplace interactions professionally. The position may require travel to various company locations to address employee-related issues, utilizing a company vehicle for this purpose. The Employee Relations Specialist is expected to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive employee matters, contributing to a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, management, business administration, or a related field, which includes coursework in supervisory principles and techniques.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a human resources environment, with a background in employment and labor law, workforce development, or a related field.
  • Investigative skills and techniques are essential.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Experience in conducting labor/employee investigations.
