About the position

The Employee Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and implementing human resources policies and programs that foster a positive and inclusive work environment at Pella Corporation. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with labor laws and maintaining a strong employer brand. The specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining HR policies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes managing employee relations issues such as conflict resolution, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) matters, and workers' compensation claims. In addition to handling employee relations, the specialist will analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement within employee relations and HR processes. Collaboration with HR team members is key, as the specialist will design and implement training programs aimed at promoting employee engagement and retention. The role also involves presenting HR reports and recommendations to management and other stakeholders, ensuring that the HR strategies are effectively communicated and understood. The Employee Relations Specialist will utilize HR management software, such as Oracle or SAP, to track employee data and manage HR processes efficiently. Staying updated with labor laws and regulations is critical, as the specialist will ensure compliance and recommend necessary policy changes. Providing guidance and support to both management and employees on HR matters is a vital part of this role, as is developing and maintaining strong relationships with employees, management, and HR team members to ensure a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in employee relations, human resources management, and organizational design.
  • Strong program management skills, with the ability to design and implement effective HR programs.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed HR decisions.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex HR concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Proficiency in HR management software, including Oracle or SAP.
  • Experience with FMLA and workers' compensation claims.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English required.
