About the position

The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys in various legal tasks related to employment law, including document preparation, legal research, and case management. This role is essential for ensuring that all legal documents are accurately prepared and filed, and that case files are organized and maintained. The paralegal will also assist in trial preparation and client communication, contributing to the overall efficiency of the legal team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing case files, discovery documents, pleadings, and correspondence related to employment law matters.
  • Conduct legal research on employment laws, statutes, case law, and regulatory updates.
  • Prepare and organize documents for client meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Manage and maintain case files, ensuring all deadlines are met and all documents are properly filed.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and assist with inquiries.
  • Assist with drafting settlement agreements, demand letters, and other legal documents.
  • Support attorneys in preparing for hearings, mediations, and trials, including coordinating logistics and evidence.
  • File legal documents with courts and administrative agencies, such as the EEOC.
  • Calendaring of all deadlines.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of paralegal experience in employment law.
  • Legal document preparation, document review, and legal research skills.
  • Ability to draft certain legal documents for attorney review.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of both State and Federal Court procedures and filing systems.
  • Familiarity with jury and bench trial process and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience working in a law firm or legal setting.
  • Paralegal certification or degree in paralegal studies is a strong plus.
  • Employment Law/Wage & Hour experience a strong plus, but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), legal research tools, and case management software.
  • Strong multitasking skills.
