About the position
The Employment Coach plays a crucial role in mentoring and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in their job sites and during job development activities. This position focuses on helping clients secure competitive integrated employment while fostering positive relationships and ensuring their health, safety, and quality of life. The Employment Coach will work closely with clients to develop their job skills, assist with transportation, and create meaningful daily schedules, all while maintaining effective communication with employers and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities at their job sites.
- Assist individuals in job development, including resume building and practice interviews.
- Help clients maintain employment and productivity by discovering their interests and skills.
- Create meaningful daily schedules in collaboration with the individual's circle of support.
- Conduct frequent job site analysis before, during, and after employment.
- Implement individual service plan goals and monitor positive behavior strategies.
- Maintain regular communication with employers or volunteer site coordinators.
- Complete required documentation, including daily care notes and activity logs.
- Attend and complete staff development training and monthly trainings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bilingual skills desired but not required.
- CPR certification preferred; training provided as needed.
- Experience working with individuals with autism is a plus but not required.
- Reliable vehicle that can pass safety inspection and a clean DMV record.
Nice-to-haves
- College experience or degree is desired but not required.
- Experience with positive behavior approaches is a plus.
