About the position

The Employment/Education Generalist plays a vital role in supporting individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs in their journey towards employment and educational opportunities. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to facilitate workforce development, mentoring, and training programs tailored to individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and other unique challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of employment labor laws and have a passion for empowering others through education and support.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct recruitment efforts to identify potential candidates for training and employment opportunities.
  • Develop and implement training programs focused on skill-building and workforce readiness.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to individuals seeking employment or educational advancement.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to enhance support services for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.
  • Educate clients on employment rights, labor laws, and available resources.
  • Assess individual needs and create personalized development plans to promote successful outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and program effectiveness.
  • Assist members with resumes, employment, and educational opportunities in the community.
  • Connect members to community resources and conduct outreach activities to referral sources.
  • Check for quality, keep track of old and new items and rotate stock to confirm freshness of food and ingredients.
  • Offered valuable expertise and recommendations to the members regarding education and employment planning.
  • Manage community collaborations with exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in recruiting, workforce development, or related fields.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or those in recovery from addiction is highly desirable.
  • Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Background in social work or related disciplines is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in relevant areas such as training development and crisis intervention.
