About the position

Troester Sharpe, P.C. is seeking a full-time Employment Law Associate to join their collaborative and collegial team. The firm, consisting of 10 attorneys, focuses on employment defense law and is committed to providing a genuine work/life balance. The role involves handling various aspects of employment law, including counseling clients, responding to agency charges, and managing litigation. The firm offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing attorneys to work from their most productive environments while maintaining a reasonable annual billing expectation.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients on employment matters
• Investigate and respond to local, state, and federal agency charges
• Draft and review employment policies and employee handbooks
• Handle all aspects of employment litigation, including assisting with case strategy, conducting written and oral discovery, research, and drafting pleadings, motions, & briefs
• Develop and maintain close working relationships with clients' supervisory and HR staff

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in employment law
• Experience counseling and effectively communicating with clients
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to be focused, detail oriented, and 'leave no stone unturned' in advocacy efforts
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced environment
• Stellar academic credentials
• Member in good standing of the bar of one or more states
