About the position

The Employment Specialist / Career Coach role involves providing coaching and guidance to individuals with disabilities seeking employment. The position focuses on assisting clients in identifying their skills and goals, facilitating job placements, and supporting them throughout their job search and employment journey.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and guidance to individuals with disabilities seeking employment
• Conduct meetings to identify clients' skills, interests, and goals
• Assist clients in job search techniques, including resume writing and interview preparation
• Provide support and guidance to individuals once employed
• Collaborate with employers to identify job opportunities and facilitate job placements
• Assist clients in finding employment through applications, cold-calls, networking, etc.

Requirements

• College degree(s) in Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred
• Certificates including special trainings, religious licenses, and/or transcripts showing class trainings are also acceptable
• Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus but not required
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with diverse populations
