About the position

The IPS Employment Specialist Supervisor will lead efforts to assist adults with serious behavioral health diagnoses in securing competitive employment through the Individualized Placement and Support (IPS) model. This role emphasizes community engagement and involves supervising a team of Employment Specialists while providing essential support to enhance job readiness and employment outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the IPS model to assist consumers in achieving their vocational goals.
  • Assess consumers' employment preferences and readiness for work.
  • Provide benefits counseling to consumers regarding employment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local employers for job development.
  • Collaborate with consumers' support networks to promote vocational success.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and trauma-informed approaches in service delivery.
  • Conduct at least 65% of services in community settings, including residences and shelters.
  • Attend daily team meetings to discuss clients' clinical and case management needs.
  • Complete required documentation for licensing and billing guidelines.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to 2 IPS Employment Specialists.
  • Submit weekly productivity reports to the Senior Director of the IPS Team.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience providing direct services to individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders in a community-based setting.
  • At least 2 years of experience providing Employment Services.
  • At least 1 year of experience supervising staff.
  • High degree of computer literacy, including competence with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Demonstrated expertise in recovery-oriented, evidence-based practice.
  • Experience with the IPS model is highly desired.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with diverse adults receiving mental health treatment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual Spanish is highly preferred.
