About the position
The Employment Specialist position at ProAct Inc. is designed for individuals passionate about supporting people with disabilities in their journey towards competitive employment. This role involves assisting clients in exploring job opportunities, preparing for the workplace, and providing ongoing support to ensure job retention. The Employment Specialist will actively seek job placements, build relationships with employers, and coordinate activities to meet the employment goals of individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with disabilities in exploring and learning about work opportunities.
- Prepare clients for the workplace and secure competitive employment.
- Provide ongoing support to individuals once employment is obtained to ensure job retention.
- Seek out job opportunities and develop relationships with employers.
- Coordinate placement activities to meet individual employment goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Business, Human Service, or Vocational Rehabilitation related field preferred.
- Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
- Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; insurable at non-risk rates.
- Successfully complete DHS background study prior to beginning employment.
