Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Certified as an EMT in the State of Texas.
  • CPR certification.
  • Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) training.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 125 lbs. independently.
  • Customer service skills.

  • Previous experience in emergency care preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to cope well under hazardous and high-stress situations.
  • Quick thinking and ability to show compassion while maintaining professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls 24 hours per day.
  • Drive a variety of emergency vehicles in all road conditions.
  • Follow GPS, read map books, and follow written or verbal directions.
  • Provide direct patient care according to competencies and protocols.
  • Lift, carry, transport, and extricate patients as needed.
  • Interact respectfully with outside agencies and provide excellent customer service.
  • Complete accurate and detailed patient care reports and documentation.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment in a constant state of readiness.
  • Complete daily vehicle and supply checklists.
  • Assist with general housekeeping chores and special projects.
