About the position

The EMT - Basic position involves responding to medical emergencies, providing initial patient assessments, and transporting patients to medical facilities. The role requires adherence to established emergency care protocols and effective communication with medical personnel. EMTs are responsible for maintaining emergency vehicles and equipment, ensuring readiness for emergency situations, and participating in training and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate emergency vehicles in response to medical emergencies.
• Provide initial on-site assessment of patients' conditions.
• Follow established emergency care procedures and protocols.
• Determine the need for additional resources and transport patients to medical facilities.
• Monitor and maintain radio communication with medical personnel.
• Administer EMT Basic treatment and medication as needed.
• Complete and submit patient care records per established procedures.
• Assist physicians and other medical personnel in providing patient care.
• Maintain and inspect emergency vehicles and medical equipment.
• Prepare and conduct presentations and training sessions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current EMT-Basic License or Arizona EMT Basic Certification.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Current CPR Certification for Health Care Provider.
• Favorable background investigation.
