The primary responsibility of the EMT is to respond to both emergency and non-emergency requests, providing basic life support (BLS) as needed, and transporting sick or injured persons to the appropriate medical facility. The EMT is expected to present themselves in a professional manner, adhere to company policies and procedures, and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. The role requires effective communication with dispatchers and other medical personnel, as well as the ability to operate emergency vehicles safely. EMTs are also responsible for maintaining medical equipment and supplies, completing documentation accurately, and striving to achieve personal and professional goals. Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance.
  • Provide basic life support (BLS) as needed.
  • Transport sick or injured persons to appropriate medical facilities.
  • Present a professional image in accordance with company policy.
  • Adhere to Falck USA's policies and procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures and Medical Protocols.
  • Complete daily assignments proficiently and punctually as directed by management.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable environment for vehicles and stations.
  • Assess risks to patient safety and operate emergency vehicles safely.
  • Maintain communication equipment, medical equipment, and supplies according to standards.
  • Complete appropriate documentation in accordance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Current state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Ambulance Driver's License/Certificate.
  • Current state EMT certification.
  • Current American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider card.
  • Ability to perform essential EMT duties including lifting, bending, and climbing.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with medical agencies and other employees.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and write reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • CEVO (Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator) or equivalent within 3 months of employment.
  • State required courses for EMT-B certification.
