EMT - FULL TIME

About the position

MU Health Care is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide high-quality patient care in emergency situations. The role involves assessing and responding to medical emergencies, performing Basic Life Support (BLS) procedures, and maintaining emergency vehicles. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with paramedic partners and ensure compliance with all licensing and certification requirements, contributing to the overall mission of saving and improving lives.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient medical history and perform physical assessments to determine patient condition.
• Administer patient care according to University Ambulance protocols for BLS care.
• Maintain ambulance readiness, ensuring vehicles are stocked and cleaned.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely within the local EMS system.
• Assist paramedic partners with Advanced Life Support (ALS) equipment and procedures.
• Prepare written reports documenting ambulance calls, patient conditions, and care provided.
• Ensure all required licenses and certifications are maintained without lapsing.

Requirements

• EMT licensure by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS).
• Chauffeur driver license; class E or higher for Missouri residents.
• Successful completion of the 40-hour EMT-Dispatching or comparable course within one year of hiring may be necessary for some positions.
