About the position

The End User System Engineer at Davis Unlimited Information Technologies, Inc. (DUIT) is responsible for analyzing user requirements and developing system specifications, leading design and development activities, and providing technical leadership for system integration. This role involves guiding users in formulating requirements, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring the technical integrity of deliverables. Responsibilities

  • Analyze user requirements and develop system requirements specifications.
  • Lead design and development activities for system integration.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Develop technical documentation and system architecture documentation.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment of system engineering management plans.
  • Interact with government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations.
  • Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
  • Implement comprehensive SOA solutions and develop operational concepts.
  • Review and approve system engineering documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis in non-functional system performance areas.
  • Establish procedures for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams.
  • Capture interface designs in a common format and store data in an accessible repository.
  • Prepare time-line analysis diagrams for time-dependent functions.
  • Establish a process to manage changes to requirements and track open actions.
  • Assess risks to the program and determine probability and consequences of failure.
  • Manage the technical integrity of the system baseline throughout its lifecycle.
  • Plan verification efforts of new designs to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process.

Requirements

  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
