Responsibilities

  • Perform daily infection prevention and control protocols for handling instruments.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of instruments and disposable items to meet facility needs.
  • Provide proper transportation of instruments to the processing center and assemble instrument sets.
  • Operate state-of-the-art equipment for effective sterilization processes.
  • Collaborate on quality assurance to prioritize team safety and patient advocacy.
  • Document sterilization indicators and report any issues to management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification (CRCST, CSPDT)
  • Graduate of Instrument Processor Program with completed externship
  • Minimum 1.5 years of Central Sterile Services (CSS) experience
  • Demonstrated competency with 80% of trays in assigned areas
  • Minimum 1 year of High-Level Disinfection (HLD) experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction.
