About the position
The Endoscope Processor at the Brighton Center for Specialty Care plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective processing of surgical instruments and medical devices. This position involves adhering to industry standards for decontamination, sterilization, and preparation of instruments, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities
- Perform daily infection prevention and control protocols for handling instruments.
- Maintain an adequate supply of instruments and disposable items to meet facility needs.
- Provide proper transportation of instruments to the processing center and assemble/package instrument sets.
- Operate state-of-the-art equipment for effective sterilization processes.
- Collaborate on quality assurance to prioritize team safety.
- Act as a patient advocate by ensuring optimal processing of instruments and equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certification (CRCST, CSPDT)
- Graduate of Instrument Processor Program with completed externship
- Minimum 1.5 years of Central Sterile Supply (CSS) experience
- Demonstrated competency with 80% of trays within assigned areas
- Minimum 1 year of High Level Disinfection (HLD) experience
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction.
