About the position
The Endoscope Processor position at Michigan Medicine involves working within industry standards to decontaminate, prepare, and provide sterile instruments and medical devices. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety of patients and staff by maintaining high standards of infection control and instrument processing. Responsibilities
- Perform daily infection prevention and control protocols for handling instruments.
- Maintain an adequate supply of instruments and disposable items to meet facility needs.
- Provide proper transportation of instruments to the processing center and assemble and package instrument sets.
- Operate state-of-the-art equipment for effective sterilization processes.
- Collaborate on quality assurance to prioritize team safety.
- Act as a patient's advocate by ensuring optimal instrument and equipment processing.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certification (CRCST, CSPDT)
- Graduate of Instrument Processor Program with completed externship
- Minimum 1.5 years of Central Sterile Services (CSS) experience
- Demonstrated competency with 80% of trays within assigned areas
- Minimum 1 year of High Level Disinfection (HLD) experience
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction.
