About the position
The Endoscopy Technician at Providence St. Jude Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting the Endoscopy Unit by assisting with procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and efficient work environment. This full-time position involves working 10-hour day shifts under the supervision of the Endoscopy Nurse Manager and Endoscopy RN, contributing to patient-focused care in a collaborative team setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with endoscopy procedures under the supervision of the Endoscopy Nurse Manager and RN.
- Clean and disinfect endoscopy equipment and ensure proper room turnover.
- Order and stock necessary supplies for the Endoscopy Unit.
- Report maintenance needs for equipment to appropriate personnel.
- Perform clerical duties as needed to support the Endoscopy Service.
Requirements
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Current Surgical-OR Tech certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) upon hire.
- Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) upon hire.
- Experience as a GI/Endoscopy technician or surgical scrub tech.
