About the position

The Endoscopic Technician plays a vital role within the Endoscopy Unit at Providence St. Jude Medical Center, providing essential support in various activities related to endoscopic procedures. This full-time position involves working 10-hour day shifts under the supervision of the Endoscopy Nurse Manager and Endoscopy RN, ensuring a smooth operation of the Endoscopy Service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with endoscopic procedures and patient care.
• Clean and disinfect endoscopic equipment and instruments.
• Prepare and turn around procedure rooms for subsequent cases.
• Order and stock necessary supplies for the Endoscopy Unit.
• Report maintenance needs for equipment to the appropriate personnel.
• Perform clerical duties as needed to support the unit.

Requirements

• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Experience as a GI/Endoscopy technician or surgical scrub technician.

Nice-to-haves

• Current Surgical-OR Tech certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) certification.
